For Jeffrey's Eleventh Birthday

Sleep…
on this eve
of the day
of your beginning;
sweep butterfly
lashes
over cheeks
and gather
stardust.
fall
into the
night
so this
trail of
kisses--
lingering
lullaby--
cradles you
into memory
my body
holding yours.
let dreams
lift--
carry
into
the first day
of another
year.

happy birthing day mamma.
many more sweet dream days to your son.
my youngest is 11, and it is too grown up and still so young.

this is such a beautiful poem, Laura.

What a sweet and lovely poem, and definitely worth a couple of son-kisses.
