For the Toy Box...

Unfulfilled Expectations

She grew tired of
puppetry, unfulfilled expectations,
and making fathers
nervous during communion
meditation. So,
Barbie left the city, ordered
a double bacon
cheeseburger and
partied all night.

TweetSpeak Poetry is giving away Barbies! In celebration of the release of Marcus Goodyear’s new poetry book, Barbies at Communion and Other Poems, TweetSpeak Poetry is hosting a giveaway. Find out all about it here, and join in the fun!

Good for Barbie! I think a double bacon cheeseburger is just what that girl needs! And possibly a chiropractor, I'm imagining . . . ;)

Little push-back here, heh?

Not so nice, not so go with the flow, not so compliant, not so sweet . . .

Got some teeth, do you? Yep, I see 'em. Got some grit, too, even if it just flashes at the edge of that gorgeous smile.

It looks good on you.

So much fun to buck the well-traveled road and head out on your own path.

Ken had no heart
or nerve to ask Barbie
to come back.
She'd never had much appetite
for him anyway,
he remembers thinking.
Besides, he'd gone organic
years ago.

I asked
to ride shotgun
in her little
red corvette
and she tossed me
a pair of sunglasses
and the keys,
said,
you drive.

Barbie continues to give me much to think about. My girls love her. I've written about her myself. http://susandimickele.blogspot.com/2010/01/devil-in-high-heels.html

Love this! I have long believed that Barbie could use a double bacon cheeseburger or two.

Well, ya know......I never had a Barbie doll....whaaaaa:(....good thing cause I've always had a weight problem and she would have just compounded my young insecure years. I've come to terms with my "fleshy" self...hahahaha...and know that God loves me...ME! Does that mean I don't care about my health or my weight..I do. And continue to walk......what am I writing all this stuff for..SEE!! Yes, Barbie SHOULD have had a cheeseburger or two and YES, I should have had a few less...hehehehe.....loved it!
