I've been to Rwanda and experienced the results of genocide in the memorials around the country. What struck me the most is witnessing the forgiveness of people toward those who killed their family members. It challenged and inspired me. A friend of mine made a short film that won an academy award called As We Forgive. You might enjoy watching the trailor at www.asweforgive.org. It engages conversations of reconciliation among those who watch it. Love you sweet Laura.
Beautiful. Love the photo.
Oh wow. Sobering. Thank you, my Laura.
And thanks, Shelly for that link.
When at murder sites with our ministry organization called First Responders [I've posted about it a few times] that is one of the main scriptures that is used to remind that retaliation is NOT and OK choice of family and friends. Submitting to the Lord for HIS manner of breaking through the sorrow, sadness, evil, and all other forms of anger and revenge... that is truly a key necessity in our lives. Thanks.
compelling.
thanks for the stir,
Jennifer
Always a good reminder ... {did you see Anne Bundy's post on vengeance this week?} The two of you have shared this well.
Steph says that museum still stirs stuff in her.
"DO no repay evil for evil" is hard when you see such injustice...
