I am a morning person. And I love the sound of the wind in the trees. Jesus is my first love. I have a passion for sharing stories that draw others closer to Him. I’m a psychologist by day, but writing is my joy. I do some writing and editing for The High Calling. When I’m not lurking in the comment box over there, you’ll find me crafting stories here.
I have published two books, Brody’s Story and Derek's Story; together they are the Wings of Klaio series (so far!). You can read a little more about them below.
I fall in love with my husband again every day. It hasn't always been this way. Maybe we'll talk about that some time. We have two beautiful boys who carry my heart around wherever they go. Being a mamma is my favorite thing. It sure has taught me a lot about how God loves us.
I'd love to talk to you sometime about marriage, faith, family, books, and all the crazy stuff of life.Check out my contact page and feel free to drop me a line anytime. I would love to hear your story. God bless, and don't forget:

Derek McCloud wants out. For as long as he can remember, his parents have been losers, using and selling various drugs just to scrape by.
When his father is sent to prison, his mother sinks deeper into a life of addiction. It’s up to Derek to watch out for his sister, Lizzie.
Little does he know that Klaio, a very special bird, is about to enter his life…when he needs her the most.
Like many communities in our country, substance abuse is a growing concern in West Virginia. Unfortunately, children often become the victims when their caregivers fall into a life of addiction. It is my prayer that Derek's Story speaks hope to those whose lives are afflicted in this way. God is close to the brokenhearted. (Psalm 34:18). Though the situation may seem hopeless, nothing is too hard for God. (Genesis 18:14). I believe this with all my heart.

Brody’s moving…and it isn’t her
choice. It’s because her mother no longer
loves her father .
choice. It’s because her mother no longer
loves her father .
Twelve-year-old Brody loves her parents, but neither is acting normal. Her dad’s always gone. Her mother’s always stressed.
Now she, her brothers, and her sister have to move from the home they love to one in town. She’ll have to start middle school without any of her friends.
Little does she know that Klaio, a very special bird, is about to enter her life…when she needs her the most.

Inspired by some of my experiences when my own parents divorced, Brody's Story is a must read for any child who has gone--or is going--through the same. There are discussion questions in the back, making it an excellent choice for a youth group book club. It is my desire that kids who read this story will be reminded that they are never alone--even through the hard stuff.
Derek knows one thing.
Life is never supposed to turn out like this.
